My photographic practice is an ontological and archaeological inquiry into the primal riddles of existence: the intertwining of memory and oblivion, and the delicate tension between presence and absence. I view my works as mediators of a fragile encounter between myself and the site (Makom), photographing like a photojournalist arriving at an event centuries late. I seek to document that which is no longer there, yet remains etched in the landscape through the persistent presence of culture and history.Working exclusively in large-format black-and-white photography, I embrace a rigorous, slow discipline. The heavy camera dictates a meditative pace that reclaims the vital span of time between the act of capture and the final print. This process is fundamentally dialogical, influenced by Martin Buber’s
"I-Thou" relationship and the teachings of the Tao. Through this minimalistic form, I unravel deep layers of human struggle intertwined beneath the surface of the landscape, documenting being and absence simultaneously.
